EVE LODGE

GEORGE Scott trains from one of the best locations in racing: the Hamilton Road which backs onto the gallops surrounding the famous Rowley Mile racecourse.

Newmarket’s historic gallops are the envy of horsemen across the world. More than 50 miles of superb training grounds are maintained by the expertise of the Jockey Club Estates team. The sheer variety of exercise facilities means that George and his staff are able to cater for every stage of a racehorse’s career.

While George’s string has immediate access to the Racecourse Side exercise grounds, the Bury Side training grounds are also easily accessed.

In September 2019 George moved this string from Saffron House to Eve Lodge Stables also on the Hamilton road, due to the natural progression and expansion of his string George felt the move to Eve Lodge was the next logical step to take in his training career. Eve Lodge boosts 75 rubber floored stables, indoor wash down bays, two covered horse walkers, indoor ride, turn out, staff accommodation, excellent owners facilities and the all-important treadmill. These additional facilities will allow George to continue to ensure all horses receive a bespoke training program to maximise their potential. The treadmill will be invaluable in conditioning horses on a return from a lay off.

Saffron House stables had been a great starting point for George since November 2015, he has trained 66 winners including :James Garfield Group 2 Mill Reef, Concierge winning the Al Rayyan Trophy in Qatar, and of course Another Batt winning in both Turkey and Dubai collecting  nearly £200,000 in prize money.

George’s other main asset is an excellent team of staff, who are a blend of experience and energy. They match George in terms of their ambition to achieve the best that’s possible with every horse sent to him to train.
